For the simple modern home. where artistic charm and practical efficiency are of equal importance. a number of novel ideas and dis tinctive materials have recently been brought out. Many of these combine three important merits, in that they are space-saving, labour- saving, decorative; and all are de- serving of attention.

Thoro is, for example, a remark- able new development in combina- tion unit furniture, which is mak- ing it possible to build up the equipment of practically an entire house-excepting tables, chairs and beds from five elementary or basic forms. These Avo forms are the following: cupboard, drawers, shel- ves, link, and trestle.

In addition to their capacity for: innumerable combinations, these units are unique in that, all except the trestle, which is used as a sup- port for cabinets and sideboards. they are complete in themselves and are satisfactory, if used singly. Even the "ink" makes a low occasional table.
