Although not weak nt inside, the Navy attack has become to rely largely on their wingers for the type of efforts which bring goals. Skinner on the left wing is quite capable of giving Loung In-chan and Li Tin-sang an un- comfortable time, and he will have to be closely watched if the Navy attack is to be kept in check.

NEW CHARACTERISTICS.

The last time the Navy and South China clashed, the sailors had quite a different line-up, which Buccceded in earning a league point after one of the most excit- ing games of the season. But for the unfortunate dismissul of Thomas on that occasion, the Navy would probably have won.

Since then, however, South China have given few displays to encourage any additional confidence in them. Too often has it been left to the half backs to pull them out of the fire: several times Intely Lau Mau and L Tin-sang have given evidence of a faltering partner- ship: it is more and more be- coming a characteristic of the forwards to daily about with the ball instead of shooting. These are comparatively features which lend colour, to the popular idea that South China are no longer the team capable of beating any other eleven in the Colony,

new

McHardy, the Police custodian, and reserve for this position, will substitute for Pau, and I think there is very little doubt that he will appear in both matches, and that the namerial strength of the team will be made up by another forward.

There is every reason to anti- cipate that the selectors will take the opportunity to strengthen their forwards re- serves, and it is quite on the cards that Bickford will be invited to join the team.

this It was officially stated morning that all four Army re- presentatives will be able to make the trip, that the Gosano brothers,----

The tit-bit of the programme in the first division of the league this week is the match between the Club and Lincolns. SPECTACULARITY.
