FIERCE CHALLENGE TO S. A. RUMJAHN

New & Old Combinations in the Doubles

(By "Veritas").

Whilst there are 59 entries for the Colony's singles tennis Championship as compared with 58 last year, there are only 31 for the doubles as against 32 in 1933. The entry list closed on Saturday evening, and below will be found the complete list of participators in the cham pionships which begin early next month.

S. A. Rumjahn the holder will meet with fierce opposition, for W. A. H. Duff has entered and is now playing well enough" to suggest himself as a likely winner. Tsui Wai-pui, Ho Ka- lau, E. C. Finchor and H. D. Rumjahn also figure in the list.

The Navy are well represented by Lieut. R. G, Hoare, who met with considerable success in the Navy championships last year, and Lieut. A. C. Miers and Lt. Comdr. Jacob.

Some old and new combinations will be seen in the doubles, where the chief challenge to the Rumjahn Gbusina will come from Duff and Sullivan, Fincher and Goldman and Ho Ka-lau and Tsui Wal-pui. Here are the list of entrants.
