Young married couples who ind themselves smathered by in-lawa will havo sympathy for the characters played by Helen Hayes and Robert Montgomery in "Another Language, which wit be shown from Sunday at the Queen's Theatre. In the Metro- Goldwyn-Mayer feature, filmed from the famous Boas Pranken stage hit, the "heavy" is the husband's mother whose devotion to his interests becomen a selfish rivalry against the young wife's love. The husband's family. middle-classed and clannish, resents the bride's interest in art and "high- bat" Ideals. The results are much the same as to be found in the com- plications of many families, Miss Hayes plays the part of Stella, tho young wife. Montgomery is Vickio, her husband. The "difficult mother role is riaved by Louisa Closaer Hala, E. H. Griffith, who directed the film, describes the sensational success af the play as being due to its accurate portrayal of characters familiar to average American families. Every family album, he says, contains such portraits. Included in the cast of the lm are John Beal, Henry Travers, Margaret. Hamilton, Willard Robert- son, Irene Cattell, Minor Watson, Hul Dawson and Maidel Tumer. Most.of the action takes place in the family flat, while other scenes are placed pboard ship, in an art school and in the newly weds apartment.

Henry Travers, who has a featured supporting role in B. G. De Sylva's Fox musical, "My Weakness" In which Lan Harvey and Lew Ayren are starred, is a veteran of the stage. although this is only his third motion picture appearance. Ho plaved the part of the doctor's father in "Reunion in Vienna", and also had a role in "Another Language", as his introduc tion to nictures. "My Wesknees? Arlen, a young American ship-wrecked and marooned on the faland, is shocked by the beast men, horrified when he finds that the "Panther Woman" a beautuous young girl

with whom he is half in love, is merely another of Laughton'a crea- turus. The picture reaches a dramatic: climax when Miss Hyams, his fiancee, arrives at the island in a boat sho has chartered, and they attempt to escape through the mob of beast-men who have gone blood-mad and turn on their creator.
