Tribute to Mrs. Dyer.
In 1930, when I had the honour of becoming Secretary, ons of your past Presidents, Mrs. Dyor. took the chair and the finances of the Society wore in a deplorablo, condition, the membership having i considerably fallen off. It will therefore be realised that a great; doal of uphill work was required to bring the Society to its own again. Mra, Dyer, however, <li not lose heart. She set out aj plan of campaign for inducing people to foln the Society.
A list wna made from the directory, circulars wero sont round, and the membership was grently increased. During her term of office the Society WAB once again placed on its foot, and indeed this was, the turning point of ita career. I therefore do not consider it a waste of time reminding members of how great a debt we owe to her to-day. Major-General Sandilands, who followed, occupied the, chair for two years, and very ably dis- charged his duties, maintaining the good work done by Mrs. Dyer.
