For breach of discipline, they were severely reprimanded and dismissed their ship, while Admiral Collard was placed on the retired liat.

The Court Martial found that Admiral Collard had "dealt with trivial causes for dissatisfaction in a manner unbecoming his position and shown himself unfit for further high command.”
