Yesterday morning 11. E. the Governor, Sir William Peel mado a visit to the children's hospital, elinle and orphanage of the Pro- cious Blood Convent in Kow
loon. On his arrival at 10.45

wberg there were number of orphans standing on both sides in single file, His Ex- cellency was welcomed by the Rev. Mother Teresa Tam; Bishop H. Valtorta, and the Committee and medical ataft, among whom were Messrs. Ngan Shing-kwan, R. C. H. Lim, Tao Yung-kwong, Dr. H. D. Matthews, Dr. Y. Y. Tang, Mr. Chan Wal-chuen, the Hon. Secre tary, and Mrs. Perry, of the nur sing staff. His Excellency said that although Lady Peel takes an equally deep interest in local hos- pital work, sho regretted being unable to visit them that day.
Sir William Peel was then shown into the children's hospital and clinic, passing through the out-patient department, the warda and the small dispensary, An ac- count of the activities of the in- atitution as well as its proceduro of taking in patients, was given by the honorary doctors. In the clinic His Excellency expressed pleasure at seeing before him the number of happy faces of small children one of whom seemed to algnify its gratification at mooting the Governor by closing its hands together in the form of the "Chuk | Yip," or Chiness way of greeting. Later, a visit was made to the orphanage, where about 40 chil- dren were present studying their daily lessons. From the orphans different kinds of knitted articles and pictures were handed over for Inspection. Lastly the dormitory of these small students was also inspected and was found very clean and well-ventilated.
After the inspection, Mr. Chan, in his capacity of Hon. Secretary, nald that, apart from the help of the H.K.S.P.C. in the hospital and clinic, the Institution has no other means of support besides the income from its annual bazaar
