LARGE proportion of London's 250,000 slum-dwellers will probably be rehoused in nine- storey or ten-storey flats, with lifts. The decision of the London County Council has not yet been finally taken.

Mr. H. R. Selley, chairman of the Housing Committee, hus re- cently been to Paris to examine. bulidings there. He has been studying for some time the fensi- bility of tall buildings which do not involve such heavy quantities of iron and steel as formerly worr required.

The L.C.C. alum clearance plan will cont £35,000,000 and take 10 years or more to complete.
