LONDON, NOV. 8. NADIR SHAH, THE KING OF AFGHANISTAN, WAS ASSASSINATED IN KABUL THIS MORNING.

A sensationally dramatic communique was issued to this effect by the Afghan Minister in London this evening, the news coming as a bombshell to the news- papers and diplomatic circles alike.

Not a word has come through from the many news- paper correspondents in Kabul and it is supposed that the news of the murder is temporarily being withheld from the public.

The information at the Afghan Legation is extreme- ly scanty.

The cable received by the Minister merely states that Nadir Khan was murdered this morning and his son proclaimed King to-night.
