YEUNG WO HOSPITAL
INSTITUTION UNDER A NEW ORGANISATION
The transaction for the pur- choso of the Yeung Wo Hospital and its properties was completed yesterday in accordance with the original terms of the agreement | entered into between the Hongkong Sanatorium Company and the out- going concern. The agreed price was stated to be over thren, Inkha of dollars.
It may be recalled that the now hospital building with its up-to- dato design equipment was opened In May of last year.
One of the principal objects of the Hongkong Sanatorium Ltd. is to roorganise and enlargo the various medical services of this well known hospital. It is a maiter of common knowledge that the Young Wo In the past was very well supported by both the Chincae community and the Chinese medical practitioners of the Colony. An- other declared object is that 301 charity Aurgical and charity maternity wards will bo perpetuat- ed and augmented, while the free out-patient clinic will bo opened daily with extended hours.
It is learned that the name of Young Wo Hospital is being con tinued and that Dr. LI Shu Fon the former chairman of directors, is once more returned as chairman of directors of this new enterprise.
"SHADOWS BY THE SEA"
(Continued from Page 5)
"And--and what shall I do-t!!! you come back?"
A twinge of pleasure shot] through him. That hint of de-! pondence from a girl of grit was a considerable compliment..
"Do what you'd do without my tolling," he answered, "Sit tight and keep your courage up."
"I'll do that."
"Don't I know you will?" "You help me to."
She turned abruptly, and was gone again. Leonard looked after her, then swung round to Jim,
"Well, come along, youngster," ho exclaimed, "That is, if you're game to face it aguin?”
"Yessir," replied Jim. "I'll tike yer there,"
"Good man! You've got pluck, too, eh? Like your mistress ?"
They left the hotel grounds, and walked briskly down the xond. Jim's legs, had they been by them- Delves, would have become a little less brisk as they neared, the bush- fringed gap that led down to the sands, but Leonard would tolerate ne slackening, feeling indeed that they had delayed rather too long) already.....
They descended the gap. "Es jest at the bottom, sir," whispered Jim,
"Is he?" replied Leonard. "I don't see him."
Jim rubbed his oyes. The well- dressed gent who had been lying dead on the recka twenty minutes ago was gone.
