DR. RAJCHMANN IN COLONY
WORK IN CHINA
Dr. Rajchmann, who was reccnt- ly appointed as technical advisor by the League of Nations to China, passed through Hongkong this *morning aboard the a... Conto Rosso on his way to Shanghai and Nanking.
In the North, Dr. Rajehmann will join other experts appointed by the League and already in China to help the Government in matters. relating to public health, the con struction of roads, irrigation, agriculture and civil service, with a vlow to coordinating their -activities.
Seen by a Telegraph.representa- tive soon after the vessel berthed, Dr. Rajchmann, referring to his appointment, said that China had been cooperating with the League of Nations since 1929 in con- nexion with reconstruction and technical development.
The Chinese Government asked the League at the beginning of the current summer to continue collaboration in the future and the League then appointed a special China committee comprising tho President of the League Council representatives of China, Great Britain, Italy, Germany, France, Czecho-Slovakia, Spain and Nor- way to this end. This committee was to act only when requested to do so by the Chinese Govern- ment.
