Hongkong's famous. "blinking" beacon is shortly to disappear.

It is to be replaced by an auto- matic traffic control system similar to or rather'a modification of that, which has been installed with such success in London and elsewhere.

The change will take place shortly, in the course of programme of improvements to traffic lights. The total cost will be $14,060 and the official note requesting the appropriation of this sum reads:
