Isn't is only natural that the queens should predominato in the National mixed team-of-four cham- plonship? In this event a team must consist of two mixed pairs. At Asbury Park recently this event set. nn attendance record for national team-of-four championship events.

The kings and queens of bridge competed for this national cham- pionship title and the following in- teresting hand came up during tho contest. The first four tricks were won by the, declaror with four queens.

Mr. George Unger, former ma tional contract toam-of-four cham- pion, was sitting in the South and his partnor was Mrs. R. B. Fuller, who with her partner, Mrs. Court- Jand Smith, won the national wom- on's pair titlo at Asbury Park, ⠀

Mr. Unger passed, West passed, and Mrs. Fuller in the North "bid one spade. Enst doubled and South. bid one no trump. North went to two no trump and South bid three no trump.

The Play

Went's opening lead was the jack of hearts and dummy's queen hald the trick. Mr. Unger returned the six of diamonds from dummy and played the queen from his own hand. West allowed it to hold the trick.

The next play was the deuce of spades, the queen was played from dummy and the third queen had won the trick. This gave Mr.. Unger the thought that now his
