Washington, Sept. 19. President Roosevelt to-day signed the codes of several in- dustries, including that for tran- sportation services, not includ- ing the railways.
It was stated by Senator Pitt- man after a meeting at the Whiteļ House that the President was much better pleased with the pro-i gress of his recovery drive.
He believes, said the. Senator, that the signing of the coal code! may be regarded as the turning- point.
It is understood that Pittman's mecting with Mr. Franklin Robse. velt had concern with the pro- posal of Senator Pittman for the
