Hull City and Port Vale im- proved their positions in the second division of the English Football League, when they took points from Bradford City and Bury respectively.

Port Vale earned the distinc- tion of visiting Bury and winning by three clear goals, whereas Hull were held to a draw on their own pastures against Bradford City.

Accrington did themselves a bit of good by defeating Gateshead 5-2. It allows them to jump aix places in the league table.
