Lampshade Skirts, Long Sleeved Dinner Jackets and Choker Collars Among the Highlights at

Flaring basques, choker collars, lampshade skirts and slit bodices, are the outstanding features the winter fashiona now being displayed in Paris.
Long sleeved dinner dresses and ovening swenters are other im- portant highlights.
Colourful fabrics, combining richness and softness, are used throughout. Exaggerated should- ders and eccentric sleeves are de finitely banished, Skirts, except for sports, have a marked tendency toward greater length. The sli houetta in freer and ensler-fitted to the knees where fullness is introduced. Basques and peplums transfer emphasis from shoulders to hips.
Dropped shoulders, tieback skirts and fulier bodices outlining bust chokers, recall the early years of the century, Long slashed sleeves, fur trimmed bas- ques and slit bodices strike a medieval note.
Profuse use of heavy ribbed ot- toman materials, including stit taffetas, definitely changes the sil houette since clothes have a ten- dency to stand away Instead of eling to the figure.
