TIMBERS IN THE ROOF OF ST. JOHN'S HAVE BEEN DANGEROUSLY DAMAGED BY THE RAVAGES OF WHITE ANTS, REVEALS A HIGHLY INTERESTING REPORT BY THE ARCHITECT WHO IS NOW ENGAGED IN AN INTENSIVE CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE PESTS.
The extensive repairs and renewals which are ab- solutely essential will cost the Trustees at least five thousand dollars. It is pointed out that unless generous and immediate support is forthcoming, the Cathedral will be in a very serious position. A public appeal for funds has, therefore, been launched to-day.
