At contract, the hand is not strong enough for a two bid, The writer prefers to open with the four-card heart suit in preference to the five-card diamond sult and would bid one heart, West wouldj overcall with two clubs, North has a choice of supporting the hearts or showing his five-card spade suit. As his suit is a major, it is better to show it while the con- tract Is cheap, therefore North should bid two spades.
West would pass and South now has what is probably a nine-trick hand rather than a 10-trick hand and should bld three no trump in- stead of showing his minor suit. Don't disclose too much informa- tion to the enemy if you сал arrive at the proper declaration without it. Three no trump would be the final contract.
