More Hopeful Outlook In India

Poona, July 11. Congress leaders to-day conferred with Mahatma Gandhi as a preliminary to to-morrow Congress Party meeting.

It appears to be certain that the civil disobedience campaign will be suspended and replaced by a construc- tive programme. If so, it is possible that the Govern- ment of India will mitigate its attitude towards "the release of some of the poli- tical prisoners.—Reuter.
