LADY SOUTHORN OPENS ILK. INSTITUTION

A large gathering attended the opening of the Hongkong Women's International Club yesterday after Hoon, the ceremony being-perform- ed by Lady Southorn.

In declaring the Club open, Lady Southorn said:

It is a matter of great. regret to all of us that Dr. Kotewall is pro- vented by indisposition from coming hero to-day. It is very kind of him to have sent us message but it is characteristic of his unselfish and untiring devotion to all good causes. It is very sad that Dr. and Mrs. Kotewall and much interest in the Club should Mrs. Alabaster who have taken so be absent to-day through indisposi tlost. They have sent us their good wishes and I am sure that all here Join me in sending best wishes for the speedy recovery of these kind friends.
