Sir-On behalf of the Hongkong| Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, I am requested to ask you if it f not possible to introduce a more humans method of capturing stray dogs, other than tho present method of shooting them. We feel that

the publicity given to thin question, and the pressure brought to bear on our Society by members and friends, warrants this appeal to you in order that you will prohibit your men from using the shot gun, co- pecially as the practice is local and

not the rule in any other city. Any help that we can render in connection with the regulations now in forco regarding the muzzling of dogs we, will be pleased to carry a Society, out. Stray dogs will be taken to our Home nt Kowloon, and our Inspector will call, regularly, as requested, at the Government depots for any dog taken possession
