To The Editor Hongkong Telegraph Sir-Will you please publish the undernoted letter, sent to the In- spector General of Police.

Slr--On behalf of the Hongkong Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, I am requested to ask you If it is not possible to introduce A more humand method of capturing stray dogs, other than the present method of shooting them. We feel that the publicity given to this question, and the pressure brought to bror on our Society by members and: friends, warrants this appeal to you in order that you will prohibit your men from using the shot gun, en- pecially as the practice is local and la not the rule in any other city. Any help that we can render in connection with the regulations now in force regarding the muzzling of dogs we, nan Society, will be pleased to carry out. Stray doga will be taken to, our Home at Kowloon, and our Inspector will call, regularly, as requested, at the Government dopots for any dog taken possession of by the Police. The recent shooting of a dog while! in the water at Shau-ki-wan seems to show a lack of discrimination on the part of the Inspector, whereas it he
