Extraordinary stories were told by policewomen when a small, blonde woman of 48, known South Wales and the West of England as "Nesta of the Forest," was at Gloucester, fined £2, or in default ordered 14 days' Imprison. ment, for fortune telling.

Largely through the Interest of the King the yachting season this year is back to normal, and the finest racing since the among the big yachts is promised. Britannia, the King's racing yacht, has been modernised, and li is expected that she will excel, her performance of last year, when she bent Shamrock V.

The all-British steel racing yacht, which has been built at Measra. Camper and Nicholsson's yard at Gosport, Hampshire, for Mr. W. L. Stephenson, governing direc- tor of Messrs. Woolworth (F. W.) and Co., Ltd., will be ready for launching shortly.

The vacht, built to the "J" class Mr. W. L. Stephenson, rule, the recognised rule for the America's Cup races, will be the only largo all-metal racing yacht of modern design In British waters. She has been designed by Mr. Charles E. | Nicholson, designer of many of the

fastest racing yachts afloat.

She will be named Velshedn, nf- er the three daughters of the owner, who has used some of the letters of their Christian names- Velma, Shella, and Daphne.

The yacht will closely resemble Shamrock V.

It is not unlikely that if the yacht proves fast enough her ow nor will challenge the United Sta- tes Yacht Club for the America'a Cup next year.
