GREATER KOWLOON TONG
DEVELOPMENT SCHEME
ON EAST SIDE
BIG
EXPANSION PROJECTED
Of the plethora of Garden cities contemplated or already embark- ed upon in the Colony, that which is likely to dwarf all others is the Kowloon Trai development scheme, work on which com- menced some three months ago.
The scheme comes us a natural expansion of Kowloon Tong, which hereabouts appears to have no Jimits except the natural ones offered by the barrier of the Kow- Ioan range of hills separating it from Shatin. Towards the north-enst, however, the scheme cnn, with the least resistance, be continued to Kowloon
City, and
this is the ultimate object of the proposals when they reach their fullest scope.
Meanwhile, the first section of something like 15 acres of hilly ground, is being prepared, and when completed will form a sub-i stantial addition to Kowloon Tong garden city, at present limited by the boundary of Waterloo Road.
