TANGSHAN HEAVILY BOMBED BY JAPANESE

Philadelphia, May 15. Mr. Owen D. Young, the famous inter- national banker and author of the Young Réparations Plan, declared his opinion, in a spooch to-day, that the United States was responsible for having ruined the currency and banking systems of the world, including their own, with the resultant paralysis of international trade, through insisting upon the collection of war debts in gold rather than in goods.—Reuter,

-Yesterday afternoon, the Japanese subject. ed the town of Tangshan, the centre of con- ziderable British interests, to a heavy aerial bombardment, and severe damage to property resulted.

It is learned that the Cement Works and a large cotton mill were among the premises which suffered most seriously.

The Japanese are making a further attempt to close in on Tangshan by attacking Kuyeh, another Kailan Mining Administration centre.

The Chinese troops are resisting stubbornly and the artillery, almost incessant, can be heard clearly in Tangshan.
