INSP. RETIRING MCWALTER
FAREFELL PRESENT
Many people gathered at the Police Recreation Club yesterday, when a presentation was made by Hon. Mr. E. D. C. Wolfe, Inspec tor General of Police, to Inspector William Robertson McWalter, whe will leave on Saturday, on leave prior to retirement.
Inspector McWalter has seen 24 years of service in the I'olice Force. He joined In October 22, 1910 as a police constable, and in May, 1915 was promoted Lanco. Sergeant. Seven years "Inter he received the post of Sub-Inspector and in August 1926 was promoted to his present rank.
During his connexion with the Police Force, Inspector MeWalter has on two occasions been
com-
mended. The frat was in 1914 after effecting the arrest of a mau for house-breaking, and in 1924 ho was commended by the Governor In connexion with an armed rob- bery in Portland Street.
Inspector Me Walter was born in 1889, and is a native of Dundee, Scotland. He is married and has two children William and Joyce. Fifa brother, Sub-Inspector "Jock" McWalter is attached to the Yau- mati polico station.
