By W. E. McKenney
By Wm. E. McKenney This is the thiri article ex- plaining the hold-up no trim, To-day we find the declarer ém- ploying the hold-up, not because he is afraid of the suit opened. as in the two previous articles, but because he wishes to keep his opponents in the lead.
The Bidding"
Most players would open the South hand with a. bid of one no trump due to the 150 aces. The writer is inclined to, open the hand with one club in an en- deavour to throw the no trump
1 play into partner's hand, as feel this type of hand can better be dummy if the hand is to be played at no trump.
However, in order to explain Case South the hold-up, in this
bids one no trump. North, with the king and queen, would un- doubtedly go to two no trump, and South would then

The Play
West has two four-card suits. Unfortunately the fourth best ju either is the deuce, immediately disclosing to the declarer fact that you hold only four cards of that suit.
the
Usually when there is a choice between a major and a minor suit of equal length it is preferable to open with the major. However, the spade suit is extremely weak and to open it might give the de- clarer an extra trick; therefore it looks as though the safest opening is the deuce of diamonds.
A small diamond is played from dummy and East must ne careful to go right up with his king so as not to block the suit.
Fit as a Fiddle at Sixty!
How many men can make that proud boast? Most men are feeling their age very decidedly, long before they reach sixty.
What is the secret of those few youthful-looking elderly men who are always goed-humouredly telling you how marvellously fit they feel?
The secret lies in the fact that they consistently maintain their bloodstream in a healthy, plentiful, rich condition.
The condition of the blood is an index to the condition of the health. A man does not grow old when his bloodstream is, kept at normalcy,
Poor quality and insufficient blood means loss of energy, ill." nourished muscles, nerves and brain, weakened digestive organs, depression. And the ailments which follow a neglected annemie condition are legion.
Build up the Blood with DR. WILLIAMS' PINK PILLS.
World-famous for half a century, this proved Blood and Nerve tonic still stands the mest searching medical tests.
"I would not have believed the results, possible had i not made the actual blood examinations myself," states o medical practitioner "who just recently conducted a test of Dr. Williams' Pink Pills on twelve patients. "In ten casca the haemoglobin contcut of the blood was greatly increased and the blood count astonishingly improved. All registered general health improvements."
