SUICIDE AND

SUDDEN DEATH

A suicide and a suiden death. occurred on the voyage from Honolulu to Hongkong aboard the President McKinley, which arrived in port yesterday and berthed alongside the Kowloon Wharf

The first night after leaving Honolulu, a Japanese "woman travelling steerage jumped over the aft side of the vessel. The nlarm was raised by the midnight watch, and the vessel turned and round, A bont was lowered, every endeavour was made to locate the woman, but the search proved fruitless, and the vessel resumed her journey.

A few days elapsed before a second death occurred on the ves- Nel. This happened to be Д Japanese male who died from an apoplectic stroke.

Both incidents were reported at the Harbour Office by Captain R. E. Carey, the master of the President McKinley.
