A most enjoyable time was spent in the Kowloon Union Church Hall last night, Dr. E. L. Allen presid- ing, when the first Parents' Even- ing was celebrated. The Superin- tendent and teachers of the Sunday School wore the hosts, while the scholars contributed vocal, piano- forte and violin solos to a highly! successful programme. Highland and Irish dances figured prominent. ly, while recitatione also were well received.

Mrs. J. S. Logan, representing the primary department sweetly, rendered, nursery rhymes. The proceedings opened with a hymn after which a prayer was offered by Dr. Allen.

In the course of the entertain- ment, Mr. A. W. Ingram extended hearty welcome to all present, while methods of the working of the intermediate, junior and pri mary departments of the Sunday School were dealt with by Mr. McFayden, Mrs. E. W. Niblett and Mrs. Ingram, respectively.

At the conclusion. Dr. Allen, prior to pronouncing the benediction thanked all parents for their pre-.. sence, and appealed for their con- tinued support. He thanked the performers and the teachers who had put in much hard work." He emphasised the importance of co- operation between. the Sunday School and the home.
