According to Messrs. Swan, Cul- bertson and Fritz, the New York market was weak yesterday. Busi- ness done: 780,000 shares. The Wall Streat Journal reports:-After a fairly strong opening the market sank to the pre-banking holiday lethargy. Trading was mostly pro- fessional, and brokers were reported to be selling on the theory that list was due for a decline. The market, however, was generally firm. Rails went up due to the belief that Roosevelt will insist on legislation involving reorganizations and con- solidations along untional transporta- tion committee's report. Wheat was down

due to Farmboards selling Federal grain.
