SPARY CASE AGAIN

IN COURT.

SON AND FATHER-IN-LAW

AS WITNESSES

The case in which Mrs. Ida Spary, wife of Mr. Austin Spary, an over- seer of the Public Works Depart ment, is suing her husband for maintenance, was again before Mr. Schofield at the Central Magistracy yesterday afternoon. Amongst the witnesses called were Mr. Went, Mrs. Spary's step-father, the 6- | year-old son of the partics; and also a stoker from one of the sub- marines, who, owned to having struck the blow which precipitated the "incident" at the Garrison | Lectura Hall dance, but declared that it was struck under a mis- apprehension.

The further hearing was ad- journed, until next week.

Mr. Austin Spary, in reply to his counsel, said he had been a good all- round sportsman, in particular playing in League football matches. He still played hockey for the Radlo Sports Club, which had attained foremost position in Mamak com- petitions. Hockey was Д ticularly strenuous game, and ho had played it as often as three times a week. It would not have been possible to play it and be in the continual state of intoxication alleged.

An Objection.
