THE WORLD

"FASHION NEWS.

OF WOMEN

Little Change in Skirts.

Skirts apparently will change very little-unless several desig ners change their minds at the lasti minute.

It is true that one dressmaker has apnounced his intention of in- troducing a definitely long skirt for afternoon wear, but this is likely to interest the Farisienne far more than the Englishwoman.

It is signficant of the influence: English women have on the fash lons, and how the designers keep their needs in mind, that the most practical of the new fashions are being definitely created for the English market.

....

And Great Britain may be proud of the fact that some of the ma-j terials British designera have been working on during the last few months will make their` ap-· pearance in more than one great. collection. The new linen tweed is one of them.

And last, but not least, "aleéves are again all-important. But there is a new comer-a full three quarter sleeve which will be used on semi-tailored frocks in a way to give a totally new effect and a hint of flamboyancy, which is very becoming to women with the slim figure.

Dressmakers cannot ignore the importance of the full sleeve, and they are doing some interesting things with them this spring. But the fullness is introduced! nearer the wrist and the elbow than the shoulder.
