Adelaide, Jan. 18. The Australian Board of Control has cabled to the Marylebono Cricket Club on the subject of the log-theory controversy.

The cable states that the body-line bowling his nasumed such proportions as to be a menace to the best in- terents of the game, making the pro- tection of the body by the batsman, the main consideration and causing intensely bitter feeling between the players, as well as on injury.

"In our opinion it la unsportsman- like and unfess stopped immediately, it in likely to upset the friendly rela Lions existing between Australia and England."-Router.

to the full Their recent displays in this direction have been far from convincing, but I look forward to an improvement on Saturday.

S will be seen by the composition of the side, it is a good one and should at least give the Shanghat fifteen a close gumo; in fact we might almost feel optimistic about the re- sult. If any criticism can be made of the team it can only be levelied at the pack, whose front row is scarcely so strong an one would have liked, but inability to obtain the necessary leave, rather than faulty selection is tho reason for this.

hopo that the injuries sustained by Griffiths and McLellan in recent games will quite mended by the 26th, and will in way affect their play on that all important peca- sion. The team will be accompanied by the good wishes of all local rugby enthusiasts and the hope that they re- turn in possession of the Saker Shield..
