"BIFFEM"
By special request we are publishing the following report from one of the spectators of the Biffem match between Highbrow Harry and Cunning Claud.
Grona moro
A large and distinguished crowd witnessed the match for the Biffem Championship between Highbrow Harry and Cunning Claud. On entering tho Harry appeared to be the nervous of the two, but soon re- gained his composure on recognis- Ing some staunch supporters of his among the spectators. Claud was wearing a natty Biffem sulti in brown, relieved by touches hore and there of red ochro.
After being formally Introduced by the referee, Dr. Radio, the opponents shook hands and retir ed to their respective corners.
The first two rounds were dia- tinetly mediocre, and but for the fact that a little diversion was caused by Cunning Claud being twice cautioned by tho' referee' for taking furtive sido-glances at Harry's card, the spectators might have got more rostivo than they did. As it was, there were a fow ugly remarks from the rear by people who wanted their money back. Highbrow Harry, won both raunda with comparative case.
seco
The final round, however, was a most thrilling affair, and at times the excitement of the spectatora roached fever pitch. Old Biffem players of many years' standing and were heard to remark, that they
before had never
Buch masterly bits.
Harry disposed his fleet as follows:-Battleship B.4 to E.1, Cruiser C.6 to C.8. Destroyer G.5 to H.6, Submarine 1.7. Claud, in hle usual cunning manner, placed his ships thus:-Battleship J.1 to

In a recent issue of the Westminster Bank Review, a financial expert, dealing with the prospects of the revival of British and world prosperity, wrote:
"If revival has not yet definitchy begun, the stage has been set.
The Stock Exchange, the most sensitive
of all barometers of national feeling, has begun to think once more in terms of future revival
"The world's inmate' virility, in the face of the worst depression, has shown more than the first signs of determinedly reasserting itself. . .
"The present opportunity, the most promising since depression began, is far too precious to be lost for want of courageous collective action,"
The best form of “collective action” the Hongkong business man can take is to advertise jointly in the South China Morning Post and the Hongkong Telegraph which will give him easily the best collectivo results in South China.

Cruiser J.6 to J.8, Destroyer G.10 to H.10., Submarine J.10.
Cunning Claud, by means of a two-headed coin, won the tosa, and fired his first salvo:-G.5; G.8; G.; H5; H6; H.7. Harry's admission that his destroyer and submarine had been sunk was met by roars of applause from the Claudites. A spectator who objected to the decision on the grounds that Claud had Harry's card was promptly ojected by order of the referee,
Harry, being only able to fire four shots in return, placed them, In his usual highbrow manner, in squares A.; B.3; C.2; DA; and hit nothing.

Claud's Fourth Salvo; B.9; C.8; G.); D.2; D.9. Result; Harry's Battleship sunk. Biffers will] realise how cunning he was here). Harry could only fire two shots In return and the spectators were already beginning to look for their coata and hhts, but with a superlative stroke of genius he placed both ahots into his oppon- ent's battleship, and, to cut a long story short, managed to sink Claud's Flect without Claud getting in another hit.
Claud, having been thoroughly biffed, slunk away into a dark corner, and Highbrow Harry was carried shoulder-high through a crowd of cheering biffera.
