THE WORLD

OF WOMEN

FASHION NOTES.

The Newest Coiffures.

There are all kinds of curious coiffurns to be seen this season. They may to intricato and tortuous, or plain and simple, with perhaps nly a semi-ercle of "oright curls surrounding the head like a diadem.

A wind-blown effect on one aldo of the forehead with curls on the other and flat ourls arranged in two regular rolls on ona side of thin head, make one claborato colffuro while a neat little chignon for the women who are letting their hair grow again adorns the nape of the nock of another.

There is no untidinem shout the new coiffures. People have got used to clean, and culptured lines, and it is asential that | hair-dressing to day shall be flat

and severe.

A transparant lacquer in boing Red by soma women. Sometimes the Incquer in in the same colour FL tho wearer's natural hair, though very often other shades are chosen, and, for evening wear, the bair may incqttored in dull eilps or gold..

Materials this season ute lees elaborate,

there

fow heavy atins, no rich lames, or volvota. Tho

material most in vogue is cotton. Cotton is so disguised as to look like anything but what it is, or it may resemble cotton and get away with it beautifully.

The new line is dingonal, and the new trimming is a race bef tween dots and strpes. A white pique evening dress, worn by one of the Paris leaders of fashion made quite a sensation the other

If you want to be daring, and more than a little sophisticated, all you need to do a wear this velvet costume which has allure written in every dowing line,

Black and white have a habit of announcing that they know just a little more about everything than any other colours, and this ensemble goes beyond the usual goal.

The dolman sleeves which make the jacket, a slim collar ție, and the thin pyramid that covers a portion of the back, leaving the rest uncovered, are enticing features.

Svelte hips and a long, slightly circular skirt complete the gown beneath, which is bodiced in white crepe. A high and low neck are achieved in front and back by the closeness of the jacket's collar and the deep V of the dress. The hat and shoes are of velvet.
