LESSON SERMON.

FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST, SCIENTIST, HONGKONG

"Adam and fallon man" was the subject of the Lesson-Sormon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, yesterday.

The Golden Text was, "That which is born of the flesh lo flesh; and that which fa born of the Spirit is spirit." (John 8: 6.)

Among the citations which com- prised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible: "Thon spake Jesus again unto them, say- ing, I am the light of the world: ho that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have' the light of life. The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou boarest record of thyself; thy rocord is not true. Josus answer- ed and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record la true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go...Ye are from be- neath: I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world" (John 8: 12-14,28.)

The Lesson-Sermon also in- cluded the following passagen from the Christian Science text- book, "Selence and Health, with Key to the Scripturés," by Mary Baker Eddy: “Jehovah declared the ground was accursed; and from, this ground, or matter, sprang Adam, notwithstanding God had blussed the earth "for man's sake." From this it follows that Adam was not the ideal man for whom the earth was blessed. The ideal man was revealed in duo time, and was known as Christ; Jesus." (P. 388: 27.)

CALL OF THE WEST

(Continued from Page 8.)

he was headed for Asper's room.

She reached the steps well out of breath. Swergin had gone to his office instead of to her father's room. Dona sat down to catch her breath. She meant to stay right there until the timber boss came out.

Swergin remained in his office through the supper hour. Dona carried Asper's tray of food to him and walted while he ate but the big boss did not come out of his office. Dudley appeared, looking fresh and rested. He sat beside Asper while Dona went to snatch a bite of din- ner. She was able to whlaper to him to watch for Swergin as she went out.

Darkness had settled as Dona re- turned from the cook cabin. There was a promise of a moon in a few hours. She heard voices in her fa- ther's room and ran up the steps. Swergin was standing in the middle of the floor, his feet planted wide. On his face was a stubborn expres- chin was Bion and his massive thrust forward aggressively. Asper Deol was sitting up and he was shaking with anger.
