101ST MEETING OF THE BRITISH ASSOCIATION

Loadou, Sept. 1. Two thousand professors from all parts of the world have assembled at York for the 101st meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science, which opens this, evening with an address by Sir Alfred Ewing on Seientific Association 63 Years Agn.

Sir Alfred Ewing, KAD, C.B., achieved fame during the War. when he was in charge of the mysterious Room No. 40 at the Admiralty, where enemy messages were decoded. Sir Alfred had the reputation of never being baffled by the most intricate code.
