Mr. A. L. Shields, on behalf of the members of the Rotary Club, thanked the speaker for his speech. "1 very much enjoyed the address," he said, "but I don't know yet why I was called upon to reply. I have no knowledge of the island of Hainan. "I wonder what the effect would be if the speaker took bagpipes instead of a harmonica into the Loi country. Probably he would be made a king, or a chief!;
