Herr Von Papen's "Big Stick" policy ans, up to the present, been entirely successful in Prussia and there is no reason to doubt that it will continue so, as he has the army anil pollee with him and plenty of officials to replace the malcontenis and those dismissed.

The opposition is powerlcas.

Trade Union leaders have instruct- ed the masses to confine themselves to winning the election on the 31st inat.

The Contmunist party, number- ing 5,000,000, may be declared illegal.

Herr Von Papen is not worrying over the election as he is sure that no one party will get on absolute majority.

Now that the big fry like Herr Braun and Herr Severing have been removed, the lesser oficials are being weeded. out, with the warm approval of the Nazia who are overjoyed at almost controlling Prussia without having a visible mandale from the electors.

The next few weeks will be in- teresting, but it is practically cor- tain that there will be no serious revolt against Germany while re- colts remain verboten-Router.
