Murphine, sole director of the Oriental Musical Bureau, ar- rived here yesterday from Shang- Jefferson. hai by the President Mr. Murphine's organization responsible for the forthcoming appearance in the Colony on Fri- day evening next at the King's Theatre of the distinguished French violinist, Madame Renee Chemet. According to Mr. Mur- phine, Mme. Chemot has enjoyed quite extraordinary successes in Japan and Shanghai. This is Mme. Chemet's first tour of the Far East and it is stated that she has play ed to capacity houses everywhere. Japanese critice have claimed ranks that her tour of Japan accond in importance to only, that of Kreisler's several years ago.
