DISARMAMENT.

THE HOOVER SCHEME

WARMER BRITISH SUPPORT

London, June 28.

A full statement of the British Government's at. titude towards the Hoover disarmament proposals will be made shortly, Mr. Stanley Baldwin indicated in the this House of Commons

evening, further hinting that there will be no further luko. warmness in the British res. ponse.

Mr. Baldwin was replying to a request from Mr. George Lane-1 bury, lender of the Opposition, for Information on the point.

CABINET UNANIMOUS.

Mr. Baldwin said that he trust- ed that proposals would be carried which would ensure, if not in the exact form, at ional as great a reduction in armaments as Pre- sident Hoover knd proposed.

BREACHES OF FIRE

ORDINANCE

As a result of a visit made by Mr. J. C. Fitzhenry to several theatres In Kowloon, the manage ments of the Po Hing, Kongchung, Mongkok and Kwong Chi Thontres were summoned before Mr. Fraser at the Kowloon Magistracy this morning for brenches of the Fire Ordinance.

The managment of the Po Hing Theatre pleaded guilty to the charge of having two exits pad- locked whilst a performance was an on June 16. A fine of $200 wan imposed.

Two summonses were taken out against the management of the Kongchung Theatre for making. alterations to the winding room without the

permission of the I.G.P. and for storing 10 reels of Alms in excess ut the number allowed on the promises. A fine of $100 was imposed on each sum- mons.

The Mongkok Theatre was fined $100 for having three public exita blocked during a performance on June 16. The management plead. ed guilty.
