A secret racecourse, set in a deep valley hidden by bush and tall gum trees, has been 'discovered and raided by the pollee. It was on an estate near Fairfield, Queensland.
The police had believed for months that secret race meet- ings were being held, and that betting had been going on. But those holding the meet- ings always had scouts posted on the approaches to the track to inform them when the police were coming.
