IMAGINATION.
The Beldsman, with Imaginn- tion, may sometimes, by feigned indolence, lure the unwary ta destruction, or by demonstration of activity deny the cautious a anfe run: he shift his position alightly because he has appre-
ciated the natural line of X's drive or Y's tendency to cock the ball up to short square-leg. To the bowler, unless he be of the tear-away variety, imagination. is. vital: all the time he must be working to a plan, and that plan depends on his visualisation of the state of the Kume, of the wicket, of the style, and, above all, of the temperament of the batsmen opposed to him. congratulating you upon your survers in its production, I wish to state that the picture discloses a most pathetic story, very finely toki, acted and photogra phed. The famine problem a very vividly portrayed and the film should give the world a true glimpse of village life in the interior of China.
On the whole, my Associates and 1 consider this pleturo ns the greatest triumph yet achieved by your Company and it is worthy of the attention of not only the Chinean people but nil foreigners who would undoubtedly find Interest from an insight of the life and existence of villagers in China,
With best wishes to you and your Company for every succean in the exploita tion of the nhove film
Yours very truly,

LETTER FROM
THE AMERICAN TRADE COMMISSIONER.
Through your courtesy, Mrs. Barringer and I had the great pleasure of seeing a pre-view of your picture "Hemaulty" on Saturday, April 23rd.
We both greatly enjoyed the picture. As the writer spent two years in European Russin charge of American relief operations during the great Russlan famine of those years, I can vouch for the excellent "shots" that you have show- ing real famine conditions. I think that this is a splendid. picture, and, as you. say, should appeal to both European and Chinese audiences. The close-ups were particularly good, and although in spots the photography might have been im- proved upon, on the whole I consider it a very high grade production.
Thanking you for having remembered me when you showed this picture.
