The funeral of the late Tang Chi-ngong, the well known Chinese financer and merchant, who died at his residenco in Gough Street, Hongkong, Inst Tuesday, took place yesterday afternoon and was attended by a big gathering of relatives and friends at the "Farewell Pavilion," in Kennedy Town. The presence of over 1,000 persone showed the high esteem in which the deceased was being held by his many Chin- cse and foreign friends.

Among the chief mourners pre- sent were the four sons of the de- ceased, Messrs, Tang Pao-chun, Tang Shiu-kin, Tang Che-kin and Tang Shlu-woon, his daughters, two grand-song and grand- daughters. The lion. Mr. W. T. Southorn, the Officer Administer- ing the Government, extended his sympathy to the bereaved family by sending his Alde-de-Camp, Captain F. W. Webb, who arrived together with the Hon. Mr. A. E. Wood at the service at the "Fare- well Pavilion," and they were re- ceived by the Hon. Mr. R. H. Kote- wall, who arrived with Mra. Kote- wall.
