AN EMPIRE DAY PROJECT.

NOVEL SUGGESTION FOR CELEBRATION.

TELEGRAPH SATURDAY, MARCH

Hongkong is to take part in the Intest suggested celebration of Em piro Day, 1032, which emanates from the newly formed Fellowship of the British Empire Exhibition. Under the leadership of Lady Peel, a scheme is being promoted for the provision of Empire meals on Em pire Day, shop displays

of Empire products, the service of Empire products in all clubs, hotels and restaurants, and special Church services. Below

is printed a copy of the letter received by Lady Peel from Mr. Florence Amery, wife Mr. L. M. S. Amery, former Secretary of State for the Colonies, who la the guiding light in England of the project, in which she asks for the co-operation of Hongkong, and sets out the aims of the movement.

Lady Peel is forming a com- mittee to enquire into the possibili- ties of such a scheme being oper ated in Hongkong on Empire Day who will explore the suggestions contained above.

The text of Mrs. Amery's letter rends:
