upon the screen in many a day, Raoul Walsh's Fox romantle drama, The Yellow Ticket" showing at the King's Theatre to-day and judging by the enthusiastic applause it caused, the film is everything advance reports from Hollywood sald it in.

The dramatic plot, which was adapt- ed for the seroan from Michale Mor ton's stage play by Jules Furthman and Guy Bolton, evolves about a young and sensitive Russian girl, who through circumstances beyond her control finds it necessary to match her wits against those of the Insidious head of the Czar's Secret police, with

her own romance and the afety of her lover as the stakes of the strug- KIC.

In the end she is forced to kill the relentless meance, only to be then faced with graver, problems that lead to a most startling denouement.

The role of the girl is enneted by Miss Landi and is one that gives full play to her histrionic talents and during her emotional scenes who rises to heights of dramatic power seklent seen and heard on the screen. Lionel Barrymore appears as the cruel and, scheming police head and as usual performance Mr. Barrymore gives that is nothing short of superb. Lau-

rence Ollvler, who only recently came to the serven from the London and

Bryndway stage is excellent in the romantle male lend.

Other favourites in the east who much credit are are deserving of Walter Byron, Rita Lary, Sarah Padden. Arnold Korff, Mischa Auer. Edwin Maxwell and Boris Karloff,

**The Yellow Ticket" marks the re- turn of Raoul Walsh to the dramatic medin and his direction of it is perfect in every way. He has secured the most from every dramatic situation and at the same time guarded his players from overeacting their roles in the tense moments of the picture. It ranks with his "The Man Who Came Back," his recent dramatic hit with Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell.

"Half Shot" Sets New Mark,

Besides being the funniest all-talk- ing musical comedy to date, Radio Picture's "Half Shot at Sunrise," fea. turing Bert Wheeler and

Robert

Woolsey. comedy stars of "Thr Cuckoon," "Rio Rita" and "Dixionn," the Aim brenks all records for proper duction magnitude.
