Patchwork, which can be used for all sorts of decorative and useful purposes, will take the tiny squares ¦ and oblongs that would otherwise go into tho rag-bag.

Modern patchwork of this sort will not involve all the hours of tedious stitching which our grand. mothers put into the quila and covers of their days. A land or trendi sewing machine lean con vert the odd bits of material into long lengths and squares in a very short time. As long as the edges. of the pieces aro cut straight they need not bu of uniform size; in fact, irregularity adds to tho Guished quaintners.
