ARMY SHOOTING.

RIFLE BRIGADE THE BEST BATTALION.

The 2nd Hills Brigade have again made good their claim, to be regarded as the best shooting

battalion in the Army.

The standard for this honour is the aggregate score made in five of the matches arranged by the Army Rifle Association for the cavalry and infantry (at home). Lloutenant-Colonel A. A. Tod's battalion

have won this "grand aggregate" match-the prize in the Queen Victoria Trophy-overy year with one exception since 1923. This was in 1926, when the 2nd King's Royal Rille Corps won the trophy.

The Competition for the Hopton Cup (Home series only) Involved firing "with movement" practice in gas masks. The winners are No. 5 Platoon of the 1st Battalion Essex Regiment with 208 points.
