FIGHT WITH AN EAGLE.

BIRD ATTACKS A SHEPHERD.

A thrilling story of a fight be tween a big royal eagle and a shepherd in the Alpine region near Omfen, over-looking Lake Maggiore, has just been revealed.

While the Shepherd, umed Peretti,was taking his flock home to the village, the engle swooped down upon a young sheep, killed it, and tried to carry it away.

The shepherd, armel only with his stick, to which was attached a strong iron hook, succeeded in benting off the eagle, but the bird turned on him, and a ferre fight took place,

The eagle swapped down upon attacking him in the back, and the the shepherd with the intention of
