London, Jan. 2. The serious effects of the Ad- which verse economic conditions worked throughout the year clearly indicated by the returns of the bankers' clearing house.

A decrease was shown in every month of the year, but the most marked decline was during the last quarter when 43 per cent, of the total deerense occurred.
